Ethylene Glycol Project, Paradip Refinery
Project Cost:
 
Rs 5,654 Cr
Benefit: The project will help in consolidating the Polyester business of the corporation by way of producing Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) which is used to manufacture Polyester fibres, Bottle grade Chips & Polyester film grade chips. In non-Polyester applications, MEG is used to produce Antifreeze, Coolants, Paint formulations & Acrylic binders etc.
Brief Description: 
This Project envisages recovery of ethylene present in FCC off-gases and then upgrading it to Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG), Di Ethylene Glycol (DEG) and Tri Ethylene Glycol (TEG).
 
Acrylics/ Oxo-Alcohol Project at Dumad, Gujarat
Project Cost: Rs. 5,251 Cr
Benefit: The project helps to maintain supply-demand of Petrochemical products in North India and to reduce Indian imports of butyl acrylate
Brief Description: 
Project envisages setting up of the Acrylic Acid (AA) Unit, Normal Butyl Alcohol (NBA) Unit, Syn-Gas Unit and Hydrogen, Butyl Acrylate (BA) Unit & Propylene Recovery Unit (PRU).
 
R&D-II Campus at Faridabad
Project Cost: 
Rs. 2,282 Cr
Benefit: 
To meet the future research and development plans of IndianOil.
Brief Description: The complex is planned as an integrated campus combining the engineering/ technology offices, experimental research & development (R&D) laboratories ,Pilot/ demonstration/ semi commercial scale-up units for development for processes and products for Alternative Energy, petroleum, nanotechnology, Bio technology, petrochemical, catalyst and chemical industries.

NCU expansion & MEG & BEU revamp, Panipat Refinery
Project Cost: Rs. 1,636 Cr.
Benefit: The project helps to maintain supply-demand of Petrochemical products in North India.
Brief Description: This project envisages NCU, MEG & BEU expansion.
 
PX-PTA Revamp at Panipat
Project Cost: Rs. 1,255 crore
Benefit: The projects helps to IndianOil to meet captive and future demand of PTA
Brief Description:  This Project envisaged for expansion of existing PX & PTA units.
 
2G Ethanol Project, Panipat Refinery
Project Cost: Rs. 909 crore
Benefit: The project helps IndianOil in meeting Government of India's policy on Ethanol blending to MS.
Brief Description: The project envisages production of Ethanol from multi-feedstock lignocelluloses using indigenous technology.
 
Infrastructure facilities at JR & Dumad for KAhSPL
Project Cost: Rs. 906 crore
Benefit: This Project helps IndianOil to Create infrastructure facilities at Gujarat Refinery & Dumad for Koyali-Ahmednagar Solapur (KAhSPL) Pipeline.
Brief Description: 
Project envisaged for construction of 4 HSD Tanks, 3 MS Tanks, 3 ATF Tanks, 2 PCK Tanks, 4 Fire water Tanks, 2 SKO Tanks & other operating facilities including QC lab, Fire station etc. at Dumad, pumping facilities at JR and cross country pipeline between JR & Dumad.

Off-gas to Ethanol (3G), Panipat Refinery
Project Cost: Rs. 598 Crore
Benefit: The project helps IndianOil in meeting Government of India's policy on Ethanol blending to MS.
Brief Description: 
This project envisages conversion of Off-gas to Ethanol using LanzaTech Technology.

Additional Tankages at Paradip
Project Cost: Rs. 462.3 crore
Benefit: The additional Tanks would increase the ullage and help in sustaining the refinery crude throughput during the outage of any secondary processing unit.
Brief Description: The additional tanks are envisaged to increase ullage and help in sustaining the refinery crude throughput during outage of secondary processing unit.
 
LAB Revamp at Gujarat
Project Cost: Rs 403 Crore
Benefit: The project helps to maintain supply-demand of linear alkyl benzene in India.
Brief Description: This Project envisaged for expansion of existing LAB unit.
 
SRU (525 TPD) at PDR
Project Cost: Rs 371 Crore
Benefit: to meet the stand by pollution control equipment condition specified by Odisha State pollution control board.
Brief Description: In the consent order of Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) for PDR, it is mentioned that Standby pollution control equipment or alternate arrangement should be kept ready for any eventuality. In view of this Standby SRU Train of 525 TPD along with Incinerator at Paradip Refinery is envisaged.

Project Cost: Rs 278.6 Crore

Benefit: IOCL has taken a strategic decision to develop infrastructure for importing bulk grid power @ 220KV voltage level at refineries to import grid power whenever economical power is available. Further, power requirement for new projects is also envisaged from Grid power due to which capital investment also considerably reduced.
Brief Description:
 
This consists of OSBL jobs covers installation & commissioning of 220 KV transmission line up-to refineries. And ISBL jobs of development of infrastructure at inside refineries for import of power at 220kV voltage level.
 
Catalyst Plant, Panipat Refinery
Project Cost:
 
Rs. 206.63 Crore
Benefit: The project would help to ensure availability of catalyst for in house consumption
Brief Description: This project envisages production of FCC Catalyst Additives and DHDS/DHDT Catalyst using IOCL, R&D developed technology.
 
Bio-Fuel Complex at Gorakhpur
Project Cost: Rs. 164.69 Crore
Benefit: In order to reduce GHG emissions and to create end use for agro - crop residue like rice straw which is presently being burnt in the fields of UP, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar causing severe environmental problems.
Brief Description: The compressed bio gas plant planned at Gorakhpur aims to produce bio-gas from agri-crop residue like rice straw.
 
INDJET Unit, Barauni Refinery
Project Cost: Rs. 189 Crore
Benefit: The project helps IndianOil to meet the captive and future demand of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) in the Bihar region and Nepal.
Brief Description: This project is based on technology of IOCL R&D for production of ATF by hydro treatment process in collaboration with EIL as engineering partner.
 
Indresid Demo plant at Panipat
Project Cost:

Benefit: 
This project helps IndianOil to scale up, demonstration and commercialization of the Indresid process.
Brief Description:
 
IndianOil R&D had taken a strategic initiative to develop hydro conversion based process for upgrading vacuum residue to value added products and establish a proof of concept for the same.

Shifting of TTL facilities from JR to Dumad for Low Molecular Weight (LMW) & High Molecular Weight (HMW) – LAB, Gujarat Refinery
Project Cost: Rs 131 Crore
Benefit: 
This Project Helps IndianOil Gujarat Refinery to Comply with OISD 118
Brief Description: Project envisaged for construction of 3 LMW Tanks, 1 HMW Tank & other operating facilities at Dumad, pumping facilities at JR and cross country pipeline between JR & Dumad.

Paradip Hyderabad Pipeline Project

Brief Description: 
Project involves laying of 1212 Km pipeline for transportation of petroleum products from Paradip to Hyderabad. Pipeline traverse through states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Pumping stations at Paradip & Berhampur (in Odisha); Vizag, Rajahmundry & Vijayawada (in Andhra Pradesh); Delivery facilities at Berhampur (in Odisha), Vizag, Achutapuram, & Vijayawada (in Andhra Pradesh) and Hyderabad (in Telangana) have been envisaged.

Augmentation of Paradip – Haldia – Durgapur LPG Pipeline and its extension up to Patna and Muzaffarpur
Project Cost:
 
Rs 3027.90 Crore
Brief Description: Project involves laying of 921 Km pipeline for transportation of LPG to consumption centre in Bihar. Pipeline traverses through state of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar. Pumping facilities at Durgapur and Barauni and delivery facilities at LPG bottling plants at Banka, Patna and Muzaffarpur.

Koyali - Ahmednagar - Solapur Pipeline Project
Project Cost: Rs 1945 Crore
Brief Description:
 
Project involves laying of 747 Km pipeline for transportation of petroleum products from Koyali to Solapur. Pipeline traverses through state of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Pumping facilities at Dumad, Songarh and Manmad and delivery facilities at Manmad, Ahmednagar and Solapur have been envisaged.
 
Ennore – Thiruvallur – Bengaluru – Puducherry – Nagapattinam – Madurai – Tuticorin
Natural Gas Pipeline
Project Cost:
 
Rs 6025 Crore
Brief Description:
 
Project involves laying of 1444 km pipeline from Ennore LNG Import Terminal for supply of natural gas to anchor customers and for city gas distribution in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Capacity of pipeline will be 35 MMSCMD. A compressor station is proposed at Ramanathapuram.

Augmentation of Chennai– Trichy – Madurai Pipeline

Brief Description:
 
The pipeline project envisages capacity augmentation from 2.3 to 3.9 MMTPA of existing Chennai Trichy Madurai Pipeline. The augmentation work involves replacement of 3 MLPUs at Chennai, Shifting of MLPU from Chennai to Asanur, Construction of Pumping station at Killakadi in Kanchipuram district, Installation of 3 MLPU at Trichy, Modification in existing facilities at Madurai, Trichy and Sankari stations.
 
Captive Natural Gas Pipeline from Dahej to Koyali Refinery

Project involves laying of 106 Km pipeline for transportation of natural gas from Dahej to Koyali and traverses through the state of Gujarat.

Brief Description:
 
Basic design, engineering and procurement of materials are being carried out in house. Construction activities after work award is also planned to be supervised by IOCL site offices.
 
Augmentation of Mathura Tundla pipeline (MTPL) and its extension for hook-up with
Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline at Gawria T Point

Brief Description:
 
Project involves augmenting the capacity of MTPL by laying 253 Km long pipeline for transportation of petroleum products from Tundla to Gawria T Point (Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline). Pipeline shall traverse through state of Uttar Pradesh. Pumping facilities at Mathura and Tundla and delivery facilities at Tundla, Lucknow and Kanpur are envisaged.

Paradip-Somnathpur-Haldia Pipeline

Brief Description:
 
The pipeline is envisaged to meet the long term product requirements of Marketing terminals linked to Haldia – Barauni Pipeline and Barauni – Kanpur Pipeline through a 344 km long Product Pipeline with delivery staions at Somnathpur and Haldia.

Brief Description of all CGD projects: The project involves laying, building, operating or expanding city or local natural gas distribution networks which includes supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to domestic, commercial, industrial and transport sector.

LPG Import facility at Paradip

Brief Description:
 
Construction of 0.6 MMTPA Capacity LPG Import Facility at Paradip. Facilities planned are:
  • a) Mounded Storage – 20 TMT each for Propane and Butane within existing LPG Marketing Terminal.
  • b) Cross Country Pipelines – 2 numbers of 16“pipelines between South Oil Jetty and existing Paradip Marketing Terminal (15 kms. approx.).
  • c) Marine Unloading Arms and Sea Water Heating System at South Oil Jetty.
  • d) LPG Blending and dispatch facilities.

Benefits: Augmentation of Import infrastructure: Propane and Butane imported at South Oil Jetty and shall be dispatched to Terminal premises through cross country pipelines and shall be stored in mounded storage vessels being constructed in the terminal. The same shall be blended for production of LPG and thereafter dispatched to various LPG Bottling Plants in Eastern part of India through pipeline and road dispatches.

New Petroleum Storage Grassroot Terminal at Malkapur, Telangana

Decongestion of demand centers in and around Hyderabad, as last terminal on upcoming PHPL (Paradeep Hyderabad Pipeline)
Brief Description: 
Construction of Grass Root POL ToP at Malkapura, Telangana
 
Augmentation of LPG Import facility at Kandla
Approved Project Cost: Rs. 588.20 Crore

Benefit: Augmentation of import infrastructure: Propane/ Butane shall be imported at Jetty and shall be dispatched to Terminal premises through cross country pipelines and shall be stored in storage vessels being constructed in the terminal. The same shall be blended for production of LPG and thereafter dispatched through different modes of dispatch like pipeline, rail and road dispatch.

Brief Description:
 
Augmentation of LPG Import Terminal from 0.6 MMTPA to 2.5 MMTPA at Kandla, Gujarat.

Facilities planned are:
 
  • a) 2 No Refrigerated Propane & Liquid Butane tanks 15000 MTs each including 6 nos In-tank Pumps.
  • b) Provision of other facilities like 2 No Mounded Bullets (600 MT Capacity), Flash Gas Compressor, Boiler etc.
  • c) Provision of Cross Country Pipeline (Propane/Butane) from Jetty to Terminal.

New Petroleum Storage Grassroot Terminal at Motihari, Bihar

Benefit: 
Decongestion of demand centers in and around Motihari, and supply to Nepal Oil Corporation’s locations under strategic partnership between India and Nepal

LPG Bottling Plant at Motihari
Project Cost: Rs. 206.5 Crore
Benefit: The Project will cater to LPG demand in that area.
Brief Description:
 
Construction of 120 TMTPA Capacity LPG Bottling Plant at Motihari, Bihar on approx 19 acre of land. Facilities planned are 3x1200 MT Mounded Storage Vessels and 2 x 24 point Electronic Filling System along with all associated facilities.
Current Status:
 
The physical progress achieved as on date is 50 % ( Approx.) All 65 equipment are ordered and all contracts are awarded. The contractors are mobilized at site and the enabling contract is on the verge of completion. The first and second bulk piping are already ordered and piping material receipt is also started. With regard to electrical and instrument bulks, more than 50 % orders are placed. The heater modules have been fabricated at vendor’s shop and are ready for erection. The equipment foundations are getting ready in phase manner and the equipment erection are soon to be kick started. The piping fabrication is already started and 65 % tank fabrication is also achieved.
