The Fastest Growing Maharatna award goes to IndianOil

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. has been adjudged the Fastest Growing Organisation under the Maharatna Category by the jury of the Hindustan Ratna PSU Awards- 2018.


Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship presented the Award to Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil at a glittering function in the Capital on May 30, 2018.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pradhan lauded the role being played by PSUs in the economic eco-system of the country. He said that their role is extremely challenging and their performance is indeed remarkable as they have to prove their mettle on both financial and non-financial parameters.
He added that the PSUs are more than economic institutions as they are the vehicles of social transformation and nation building. In this context he recalled how he had met a young IndianOil officer at the company’s R&D Centre who had quit a prominent private sector company to join IndianOil to fulfill his dream of serving the nation. Citing the example of the mammoth mainstreaming of LPG in the country he said it is owing to the hard work of oil company professionals that in just 4 years over 10 crore new LPG connections have been released and by 2019 the target is to release another 3 crore connections.
He said that the Government has been leveraging PSUs, especially in the energy sector, to address its strategic and economic goals, including development of the long-neglected North-East region, progressively shifting the country’s fuel mix more toward cleaner sources and for reviving ailing fertiliser units. Hindustan Ratna PSU Awards is a platform instituted by the HT group to honour and celebrate the success stories and achievements of PSUs and recognise their contribution to society.


IndianOil conferred as one of India's Great Places to Work

IndianOil has been felicitated as one of India’s 25 Best Work Places in Manufacturing – 2019 by Great Place to Work institute.


The award was received by Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Director (Marketing). Also present were Mr. Arup Sinha, CGM (HR), Mr. Nilesh Nekaljay, GM (L&D), Marketing HO, and other members of (HR) Marketing HO team. Indian Oil Corporation Limited, features among the top three in BW Real 500 Companies

Indian Oil Corporation Limited, featured among the top BW Real 500 Companies, compiled by the Business World Magazine, based on the assets created and income generated in a year.


While IndianOil stood at the Top in terms of income generated in a year, with an income generations of Rs. 424918.60 crores, the generation of assets for the Corporation recorded a positive shift of 15.66%.
This year’s BW Real-500 rankings exhibited a considerable improvement in the key balance-sheet and profit and loss parameters.


IndianOil stands tall amidst Top 50 PSUs in India, featuring among Fortune India's annual list of India's Most Profitable PSUs

Indian Oil Corp. Ltd (IOC) has maintained its ranking among the Top performers to feature among Fortune India's annual list of India's Most Profitable PSUs.


With a sterling track record and sound management practices, the Oil & Gas PSUs are known to hold the key to economic prosperity of the nation. The 2018 Fortune India list of India’s Most Profitable PSUs – the listing of the 50 top Government-owned entities – has thrown up a list of high-performing PSUs with an aggregate gross profit of a staggering Rs. 2,62,354 crore. A much-loved company and possibly the largest customer-facing company in the world, IndianOil holds the second position in the list, while ONGC leads the pack.

IndianOil also features prominently among the Top 10 PSUs on various significant financial health parameters such as asset efficiency, revenue per employee, Return On Net Worth, Return on Equity/Return On Capital Employed, Earnings Per Share & Profit-Earnings Ratios, etc. IndianOil was also among the top 10 companies with the highest dividend payouts, highest market capitalisation besides clocking the highest rate of growth in market capitalisation.

The No. 1 company on the Fortune India 500 list for the ninth time running, IndianOil, led by chairman, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, is transforming itself into a ‘complete energy’ firm by investing heavily in alternative fuels as challenges from e-vehicles and tighter emission norms grow.

The 58-year-old IIT-Roorkee graduate shows the same diligence in preparing IndianOil, the No. 1 company on the Fortune India 500 list for the ninth year running, for the future. Anticipating stricter emission standards, and a strong government focus on electric vehicles and alternative fuels, Mr. Singh is investing heavily in green technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells to make IndianOil a complete energy company. IndianOil Chairman conferred Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT-Roorkee

Indian Institute Technology-Roorkee felicitated Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil, with its most prestigious Distinguished Alumnus Award for the year 2018 for his outstanding professional accomplishments.


Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Class of 1980 becomes the first Chemical Engineer from his alma mater to be felicitated with this honour. He received the award at IIT Roorkee at the 172nd Foundation Day of the institution.
A large gathering of senior alumni of Batch 1958 and 1968 celebrating their Golden and Diamond Jubilees, were present on the occasion.
In his acceptance speech Mr. Singh said that he “accepts the award with pride and utmost humility as such a recognition by one’s alma mater is the indeed the ultimate honour.”


IndianOil wins Dun & Bradstreet Corporate Award-2018

Indian Oil Corporation Limited has won the Dun & Bradstreet Corporate Award-2018, under the category “Oil – Refining and Marketing”.


In a ceremony held on May 25, 2018 at Mumbai, Mr. Shiv Prasad Shukla, Minister of State for Finance, Government of India, presented the award to Mr. YK Gupta, ED (Engg. & Proj.), Marketing HO on behalf of IndianOil. The Dun & Bradstreet Corporate Awards have been commemorating outstanding performers among Indian Corporates since 2006. It honours the Top 500 Companies in India, thus recognizing their role as ‘Champions of Change’ in the transformation of the country.


IndianOil adjudged “Company of the Year” in Petrochemicals at IndiaChem-2018


Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. bagged the “Company of the Year” Award in Petrochemicals the 10th edition of India Chem – 2018 at Mumbai. The prestigious award has been instituted jointly by the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals (DCPC), and FICCI. The award was presented to Team IndianOil by Mr. Raghavendra Rao, Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Govt. of India.


IndianOil conferred Platts Global Energy Award for Industry Leadership in Downstream Sector.

Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) was adjudged the best company in the category “Industry Leadership Award – Downstream” of the 2017 edition of the prestigious Platts Global Energy Awards. The awards, widely recognised as the Oscars of the energy sector, were given away at a gala awards event held in New York last week.


Responding to the prestigious international recognition, IndianOil Chairman, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, said that the Corporation's all-round excellent physical and financial performance in the year 2016-17, coupled with several Marketing and R&D initiatives launched during the year, has helped IndianOil bag the coveted global award in the downstream oil & gas sector. The Platts Global Energy Awards honour organisations and individuals dedicated to achieving excellence in the energy industry. The Awards receive more than 200 nominations each year from over 25 countries. The event is attended by more than 450 energy industry executives.
