Director (Pipelines) releases Standard Operating Procedures for Pipeline Operations

To steer ahead the operation of pipelines and promote uniformity in procedures across the nation, Mr. Anish Aggarwal, Director (Pipelines) released the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Pipelines Operations in the Pipelines Management Committee Meeting on March 23, 2015.

The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) have been prepared by Planning and Coordination Department of Pipelines Division incorporating operational experience of over the last five decades, best industry practices and taking input from various documents like Operation Manual and Integrated Management System (IMS) Manual. Designed to serve as the master guide, the Standard Operating Procedures will help the operating personnel in understanding the nuances of pipelines operations. The compilation will be subjected to periodic revisions for incorporating the best industry practices.

In his foreword to the compilation, Mr. Aggarwal stated, “The Standard Operating Procedures for Pipelines Division have been prepared by adopting the best practices of the industry and prevailing operating methodology… The compilation of the Standard Operating Procedures is a movement in the right direction towards standardization of procedures and safety culture in this great organisation.”

Samtani, ED (NRPL) and other senior officials.
