Mock fire emergency response drill conducted at IOC LPG bottling plant

Mock emergency fire at LPG Bottling Plant of IndianOil at Bari Brahmana.

A mock 'Emergency Response Drill' was conducted by IndianOil (IOC) at its LPG Bottling Plant at Bari Brahmana.

Various State Government Departments like Fire and Emergency Services, Pollution Control Board, ESI Hospital, Police and neighbouring industries like Hindustan Petroleum Corporation participated in this exercise. IndianOil's Plant Manager Tejpal Dahiya was the Fire-in-Chief and Site Controller; who supervised the entire mock emergency drill.

The drill started when the emergency siren began to ring declaring emergency within the bottling plant premises. All the plant officers and employees were shown the exact location of the incident and they immediately rushed to the area and combated the fire emergency with their greatest enthusiasm and capacity.
While the Fire Combat Team reached the spot and immediately started damage control. Fire extinguishers were operated to control the fire and after that the automatic water spray system started its cooling effect.

The teams lead by plant officials Mohinder Kumar, Anchal Dass, Neha Thapa and Suman Tagotra actively participated in the mock fire emergency drill.

Kuldeep Bhan, District Officer, J&K Pollution Control Board, Samba also participated in the exercise. SC Verma, Divisional Fire Officer Samba participated in the drill along with other Fire officials and pressed into service fire crews and fire tenders from Bari Brahmana Fire Station.

Ambulance and staff from the ESI Hospital, Bari Brahmana reached and remained on standby to tackle any untoward medical emergency. RS Saini, SI along with the other Police personnel from Bari Brahmana Police Station also participated in the drill. The assistance from the nearby similar LPG bottling plant of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation was utilized for the mock fire combating exercise.
