IndianOil holds 3rd National Seminar on Sustainability at New Delhi

The 3rd national seminar on Sustainability was organised at New Delhi recently. The theme of the seminar was ‘Sustainable Development: Transformational Leadership’. National Seminars have been a part of IndianOil’s outreach and awareness generation programme on sustainability since 2012.

Mr. B. Ashok, Chairman, IndianOil, inaugurated the seminar in presence of Mr. D. Sen Director (P&BD) and Mr. Subodh Kumar, GM (AE&SD) CO. In his keynote address, Chairman recollected his experiences relating to adverse effects of climate change. He added further that the worst effects of climate change can be avoided, provided we come up with pragmatic and well defined solutions. Mr. Sen delved into the changing global climate, energy challenges, social issues and conveyed the urgency for immediate action.

The seminar deliberated on a wide range of topics including sustainability concerns, opportunities, innovations in place, Carbon, water and waste management in Indian industries and outside, and the role of leadership in bringing about the desired transformation.

The eminent speakers from renowned institutions and Ministries such as the Planning Commission, National Institute of Hydrology, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, TERI, JNU, National Water Development Agency, GIZ, among others, shared valuable information on sustainability. Leading corporates like NTPC, Powergrid, BPCL, GAIL, ONGC, OVL, and other organisation like DGH, EIL, PPAC and Railways also participated enthusiastically in the seminar.
