The five topics covered in the projects were “Financial Prudence”, “Enhancing Reputation and Corporate Brand”, “HR challenges in the Oil and Gas Sector”, “Managing Uncertainty” and “Leveraging Assets for Profitability”. The projects themes were framed jointly by IiPM and IIM, Calcutta, based on contemporary concerns of domestic Oil and Gas Sector in general and IndianOil in particular. Both the Directors opined that the topics were practical and contemporary while interacting with the groups during Q & A sessions. Mr. Sanjiv Singh advised during interaction with the groups that the participants should identify one or two learnings as take ways from such a programme on which they should plan their actions in their own areas of works to do things differently with the objective of organisational improvement. Mr. Veghese Cherian while emphasising all practicing Managers have a HR role and need to discharge the same judiciously, stated that IOCians have to overcome functional silos and strive to constantly improve upon the processes and add value. Even small endeavours would go a long way in assuring Indian Oil’s overall Improvement.
