Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Ram Naik performed the rituals of “Bhoomi Poojan” for laying the foundation stone of ‘Swatantrya Jyot’ for installation of Veer Savarkar Plaque at Cellular Jail in Port Blair, A&N Islands on July 4, 2015 in the presence of Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lt. General A. K. Singh, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Mr. Rahul Shevale, Hon’ble MP from Mumbai South –Central, Mr. Anand Prakash, Chief Secretary, A& N Islands along with other senior officials from A&N administration and IndianOil.

Mr. Y. K. Gupta, ED (WBSO), Mr. Rajesh, CEO, IndianOil Foundation, Mr. S. K. Bansal, GM-IOF, Mr. Pritish Bharat, DGM (RS), WBSO, Mr. N. N. Rao, DGM (E), WBSO represented IndianOil at the function.

Hon’ble Mr. Naik elaborated the important contribution of Veer Savarkar in the freedom movement of the nation and his stay at the Cellular Jail at the function.

Mr. Rajesh, CEO - IOF proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of IndianOil foundation, which will undertake the project of building “Swatantrya Jyot” for installation of Veer Savarkar plaque.
