Paradip Refinery's South Oil Jetty inaugurated

The South Oil Jetty of Paradip Refinery was inaugurated by Mr. Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister, Shipping, Road Transport & Highways on 10th July 2015 in the august presence of Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State(Independent Charge), Petroleum & Natural Gas; Dr. Damodar Rout, Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation and Excise, Govt. of Odisha and MLA, Paradip; and Dr. Kulamani Samal, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Jagatsinghpur. Mr. B. Ashok, Chairman, IndianOil, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Director(Refineries), IndianOil, Mr. Ramjee Ram, Executive Director-I/C, Paradip Refinery and Mr. G. S. Singh, Executive Director(Technical), Paradip Refinery. Senior officers of IndianOil’s Paradip Refinery; Engineers India Limited, and representatives of Contractors were also present on the occasion.
As part of Paradip Refinery Project, IndianOil, is setting up the Oil Jetty, at a cost of Rs 811 Crores along with associated facilities at Paradip Port Trust. A single berth is provided for loading of products and unloading of crude oil. One crude pipeline, eight product pipelines (Motor Spirit, High Speed Diesel, Naphtha, Dual Purpose Kerosene, Propylene and Propylene vapour) and 3 utilities pipelines are laid from South Oil Jetty to IndinOil Paradip Refinery.
Two Unloading Arms (for Crude) & eight Loading Arms (for product) are also installed at Jetty top. Average parcel size for product is 62,000 Dead Weight Tonnage with berth turned down time of 24 hours while for Crude unloading 1,00,000 Dead Weight Tonnage with berth turned down time of 26 hours.
Based on the maximum off take from the Refinery and the average ship-tanker sizes, appx. 212 vessels can be loaded from the South Jetty per year. Associated facilities for this Oil Jetty includes One Sub-station, Control Room along with major equipments viz. Custody Transfer Metering System (8 nos.), Vapour Recovery System, Marine Loading Arms on Jetty (10 Nos., capacity- varying from 3,930 cum/hr to 180 cum/hr), Scrapper Launcher & Receiver ( 9 nos.), Digital Control System.
The South Jetty is 361 metre in length, the dimensions of utilities are Service Platform (55m x 30m), Berthing Dolphin (40m x 16.5m) – 2 nos, Mooring Dolphin (16m x 16m) – 4 nos, High Volume Long Range Monitors (HVLRM) – 4 nos, Jumbo Curtain System – 4 nos, Main FW pumps (1,000 cum/hr) – 6 nos, Jockey pumps (100 cum/hr) – 4 nos, Hydraulic Gangway Tower – 2 nos. The South Oil Jetty will enable Paradip Refinery for import of crude oil and export of products.
