Petroleum Ministry to discuss on a roadmap to develop downstream petrochemical industry in Paradip

Minister of State (I/c) Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, received Chief Secretary of Odisha in Mumbai on the margins of Make in India Conference-cum-Exhibition. Minister was accompanied by Petroleum Secy., Senior officers of the Ministry & CMDs of HPCL, BPCL and Senior officers of IOC. Chief Secy. was accompained by Development Commissioner-cum-Finance Secretary, Industry secretary, MD IDCO & Commissioner Commercial Tax. The two sides discussed the roadmap to develop downstream petrochemical industry in and around Paradip which will be supported by the 15 MMTPA Paradip refinery, it was agreed that IOC should adhere to the timelines for development of polypropylene Plant & other projects which are at various stage of implementation. Chief Secy. assured all support from Govt. of Odisha for the projects. BPCL & HPCL requested Odisha for land in Koraput for a LPG plant on Common User Facility (CUF). Representatives of Govt. of Odisha agreed to consider this favourably on priority basis.
