IndianOil Gujarat Refinery is taking all precautions to ensure safety of employees, contract workers, nearby communities and customers while ensuring supply of Petrol, Diesel, LPG and other petroleum products during COVID-19 crisis

IndianOil Gujarat Refinery is committed to serving the nation in this world crisis arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gujarat Refinery is taking all precautions to ensure safety of employees, contract workers, nearby communities and customers and also ensuring continuous supply of the vital fuels - Petrol, Diesel, LPG and other essential petroleum products to provide emergency and relief to the customers 24×7 unceasingly. A high level committee has been constituted to coordinate and monitor all precautionary measures for COVID-19 and Control Room has been set up with round the clock functioning for handling contingency and situation monitoring. Demonstrating the core value of Care towards all their stakeholders, Gujarat Refinery has provided nearby Village Panchayats with the face masks and sanitizers for use by villagers engaged in essential services.

For the safety of community at large, as per the Government guidelines, Project activities have been brought to a halt and thereby contract workers have been reduced by about 75%. They are now engaged only in plant maintenance, power and water utilities and sanitation and other essential support services to ensure safe refinery operations. To ensure the safety of contract workers, biometric attendance system has been stopped while attendance is ensured through Smart Card. Thermal guns are being used at access points to screen the employees and workers.

Hand sanitizers placed at all access points, check & change rooms, canteen and control rooms wherever work stations are available. Social distancing is being maintained ensuring that workers remain at certain distance and don't work together. Movement of support staff and employees are avoided by providing necessary services like food at their workplaces.

Sanitation/ hygiene measures at all offices and installations through cleaning activities have been augmented in offices, control rooms, check & change rooms, washrooms and other such public places. Cleaning twice daily ensured with regular inspection of the areas. Sanitisation of transport facilities are also being ensured.

Safety tips pertaining to COVID-19 is being spread in the city through FM Radio channels. Safety advisories are being disseminated through PA system in township and inside the Battery Area for sensitization of contract workers and employees. Dissemination of Public Health messages specific to Novel Coronavirus is being done prominently at all oil installations including retail outlets through Posters in Gujarati, Hindi and English, Video messages, Digital displays, besides distribution of leaflets in Hindi and Gujarati to contract labour at Projects & Main Gates and also to domestic helps staying in out-houses.

Sensitization workshops and awareness programmes for employees and township residents are done through Digital mode using Digital screens, emails, Video conferencing and digital platforms. All these efforts to ensure safety of workers and the community is being done by the Gujarat Refinery employees with the spirit of service to the nation in the belief of "Har Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam".
