IndianOil inks agreement with Samriddhi

Samriddhi by Mahindra Agri is a flagship initiative of the USD 17.8 billion multinational Mahindra group aimed at providing agronomy advice and agro input products as well as best agricultural practices to the Farmer universe in India. The ultimate objective of Samriddhi is boosting farm productivity and the Company is already propagating its unique proposition of delivering ‘Farm Tech Prosperity’ under one roof through 300 Samriddhi Centres across India. The program has impacted over 5 Lakh farmers and the Company has a plan to reach out to 2 million farmers by 2020.

Indian Oil entered into a MoU with Mahindra Samriddhi for the proliferation of the Mahindra Samriddhi Centres at IOC Retail Outlets and KSKs in the rural tracts of India for an initial period of two years. These Samriddhi Centres will offer a mix of services like soil testing facility, agri counseling and weather information along with sales of agri products like seeds, tubers, micro irrigation solutions, herbicides, insecticides, etc. The association is a promising proposition for both Partners as it will enable Mahindra to scale up the Samriddhi reach leveraging our network while facilitating Indian Oil to substantively add to the basket of services available at Outlets in the rural hinterland, especially the KSKs.

The Agreement was signed by Mr. Shyam Vembar, Vice President of Mahindra and Mr. Anirban Ghosh, DGM (RS), HO in presence of Mr. D K Sharma, ED (RS), HO and other senior officials from both Mahindra and Indian Oil.

While speaking on the occasion, ED (RS),HO congratulated both teams on this tie up and highlighted the synergies in the objectives of Mahindra Samriddhi and the Indian Oil KSK, both models focused on dissemination of benefits to the last mile. He added that the association has a great future and stressed upon both Partners to ensure speedy and planned implementation of the initiative to enable furthering of benefits to maximum rural regions.
