IndianOil’s Petrochemical Conclave sets agenda for unlocking India’s petchem potential

The first Petrochemical Conclave organised by IndianOil was inaugurated here today by Mr. K. Jose Cyriac, IAS, Secretary, Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Govt. of India in the presence of Mr. R.S. Butola, Chairman IndianOil; Ms. Neelkamal Darbari, IAS, Jt. Secretary (Chemicals and Petrochemicals) and Mr. A.M.K. Sinha, Director (Planning & Business Development), IndianOil. The Conclave drew a huge response from the industry and representatives of Producers, Manufacturers, Technologists and other stakeholders from the Petrochemical Industry.

Mr. K. Jose Cyriac in his inaugural address complimented IndianOil for its efforts in organising the conference which would help in charting the future course of the industry. “With IndianOil, widely acknowledged as the flagship corporate of the nation backing the conference we will be able to unlock the true potential of the petrochemical market in the country,” he said. Today, petrochemicals form an integral part of the larger growth story of India and the sector can grew even further to take the benefits of plastics and polymers to millions of customers. Petrochemicals is technology driven and IndianOil’s formidable technological expertise and will be a game changer in ensuring that an equitable balance is forged between tapping the growth market and managing the challenge of sustainable development and environmental concerns, he added.

In his key note address, Mr. R.S.Butola, Chairman, IndianOil said “IndianOil is known for its leadership in the petroleum business and efforts are on to make an impact in the petrochemical sector as well. The investments in basic petrochemicals and polymers is backed by new forays like the setting up of a Acetic Acid Plant in Gujarat using BP’s latest technology and a state-of-the-art Styrene Butadiene Rubber Plant which is expected to be commissioned next year. IndianOil’s tradition of dedicated customer service and transparency would bring in a breath of fresh air in the Industry. We will continue to be committed to value, expansion of the product bouquet and innovation of new products,” he said. Earlier, Mr. A.M.K. Sinha welcomed the participants and shared information on IndianOil’s existing and proposed investments in the Petrochemical Industry.
