Infrastructure Industries

The index of six core infrastructure industries viz. Crude Petroleum, Petroleum Products, Electricity Generation, Coal, Finished Steel and Cement, together has 26.7% weightage in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). During 2006-07, these six core infrastructure industries registered a growth of 8.6%, as compared to 6.2% last year.
