Resid Upgradation Unit Construction work commenced at Gujarat Refinery

Maintaining the glorious tradition of Gujarat Refinery, Mr. U K Basu (ED), Gujarat Refinery, performed Bhoomi Pooja and broke the soil with a shovel to commence the construction work of “Resid Upgradation and MS/HSD Quality Improvement Project” on August 11, 2007. The Pooja was followed by traditional coconut offerings. Mr. N. Sethurathinam, GM(T), Mr. G. Somani; GM (PJ), Mr. Maskara, DGM(F), Mr. S.K. Jha, DGM (P&U), Mr. Sanjiv Shah, DGM(PN), Mr. S.A. Naeem Sr. Commandant (CISF), and large number of IOCians were present on the occasion. Resid Upgradation Project (RUP) is an ambitious Rs. 5693 crore venture of IndianOil for the improvement of distillate yield through black oil upgradation using high sulphur crude and to produce Euro-III and Euro-IV quality petrol and diesel.
