Press Release Mr. Sanjiv Singh takes over as the Director [Refineries] of IndianOil

New Delhi. 1st July,2014. Shri  Sanjiv Singh has taken over as the Director [Refineries] of the leading Fortune 500 company, IndianOil. He takes over from  Mr Raj Kumar Ghosh who superannuated on 30th June,2014. Shri Singh was  working as Executive Director (In -Charge) at the Paradip Refinery Project in Odisha , leading the prestigious Rs 30,000 crore project , till recently. Earlier he has held the position of  Executive Director (In-Charge) at the most modern refinery of  the country  at Panipat and was responsible for setting - up of Refinery , Naphtha Cracker and other downstream polymer units. Shri Singh played key role in  the commissioning of Panipat Refinery , Para Xylene & PTA and  India's largest Naphtha Cracker which has ushered in a new era of industrial development in Haryana.

A graduate in Chemical Engineering from I.I.T. Roorkee, Shri Sanjiv Singh also acquired Diploma in Management and   joined Indian Oil Corporation Limited in 1981 and has worked in various positions at Mathura, Barauni and Panipat Refineries. His services were also drawn by the Centre for High Technology, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Nigeria National Petroleum Company, Nigeria. During 2007-08 Shri Sanjiv Singh led the IndianOil team to KNPC [ Al-Ahmadi Refinery ] to assist them in reducing their turnaround time in the FCC turnaround. First of its kind, this assignment brought lots of praises for IndianOil.


Mr Singh who will be heading the Refineries Division of the  largest refiner of the country , strongly believes in strengthening the refineries' operation by improved reliability  with revamping / debottlenecking and modernization of process units at low cost expansions with yield and profitability improvement projects. He also underlines the need to have technologies to process low cost crudes to enhance profitability.Indian refineries will have to benchmark with international best as in days ahead India will emerge as the ' Refining Hub', having surplus refining capacity,  Shri Singh feels. Respected across the industry for his visionary acumen, technical knowledge , business dynamism and out of box creativity, Mr Singh strongly believes that industry needs to develop and nurture leadership and promote excellence in order to draw full advantage of the emerging economy.
