IndianOil conferred the Official Language shield by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

 
Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas handed over the Official Language shield to Indian Oil Corporation Limited at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on September 18, 2014. This award has been instituted this year by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to recognize implementation of Hindi Language in official work. All the affiliated/ subordinate offices and undertakings of MoP&NG participated in the same.

Chairman, IndianOil Mr. B. Ashok and Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Director (Refineries), IndianOil received the Official language Shield for outstanding implementation of official language. On this occasion, a letter of appreciation was given to Mr. S.K. Tripathi, Chief Manager (A&W), IndianOil.

The Secretary, MoP&NG and Joint Secretary, MoP&NG along with Mr. D.K. Saraf, Chairman, ONGC; Ms. Nishi Vasudeva, Chairman and Managing Director, HPCL were present at the award ceremony along with other senior executives of the Ministry and Oil and Gas companies.

During his address, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas while emphasising the importance of Hindi and other national languages said that Hindi should increasingly be used in day to day official work. He further cited the example of leading countries in the world having their own language and thought by virtue of which they have attained all round prosperity. He said while seeking knowledge, English language can be used however for things which emanate from the heart and feelings can only be expressed in one's own language.

Joint Secretary, MoP&NG also expressed his views on this occasion. Mr. D.S. Rawat, Joint Director (Official Language), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas conducted the programme.
