As part of the ongoing all-India Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) kicked off a major cleanliness drive in the vicinity of its Marketing Division Head Office in Bandra (East) here today with participation of Rohit Sharma, India’s cricket icon and sports star on IndianOil’s rolls. Rohit Sharma joined Mr. HS Bedi, Executive Director (HR), and Mr. SS Bapat, Executive Director (Corporate Communications & Branding), IndianOil, and others to formally launch the cleanliness drive.

In response to the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call seeking the participation of all sections of society in realising Gandhiji’s dream of a clean India, the 34,000-strong team of IndianOil employees is whole-heartedly supporting the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign in many ways to make it a grand success. The Corporation is rolling out a cleanliness drive across its countrywide marketing infrastructure and network of 40,000 customer touch points, including over 24,000 petrol/diesel stations, and 7,000 Indane LPG cooking gas distributors.

The Corporation’s refineries, pipeline installations, bulk storage terminals & depots, LPG bottling plants and aviation fuel stations shall also join the nation-wide cleanliness drive in their own premises besides conducting diverse activities such as provision of toilet facilities in schools, tree plantations, walkathons, essay & debate competitions, skits and street plays in the neighbourhood communities to spread the message of a clean India.
