IndianOil dedicated to making available BS-IV fuel for a cleaner and greener Nation

Indian Oil Corporation, country’s largest fuel retailer, by now has made BS-IV grade fuels available in 63 cities, as per the mandate of the Government of India.

IndianOil pioneered the introduction of BS-IV grade fuels in 13 cities in a phased manner between April - October 2010 including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata and then expanded further to another 50 cities by mid-March 2015, taking the total to 63 cities.

IndianOil’s Gujarat, Haldia, Mathura and Panipat refineries have been revamped at an expenditure of about Rs 15000 crore to produce BS-IV grade fuels. However, in order to ensure supply of BS-IV grade fuels to the entire country by 1st April 2017, IndianOil is investing another Rs. 3100 crore for developing 100% BS-IV compliant MS and HSD production facilities at its Gujarat and Barauni Refineries.

With effect from 1.04.2015, BS-IV grade fuels are being supplied to the states of Harayana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, J&K (except Leh/Kargil), Punjab including Union Territory of Chandigarh, 4 Districts in Rajasthan (i.e Bharatpur, Alwar, Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar) and 28 Districts in Uttar Pradesh (i.e Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpet, Merrut, Bijnor, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshar, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Rampur, Moradabad, Aligarh, Badaun, Bareilly, Mathura, Mahamaya Nagar, Itah, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah & Manipuri, Pilibhit, Shamli, Sambhal, Farukkabad, Kannauj, Auria and Kashganj).

In line with the recommendation of Expert Committee on Auto Fuel Vision & Policy – 2025 and as per directive of MoP&NG, IndianOil is gearing up its supply and distribution network to ensure availability of BS-IV grade fuels by 1st April 2016 to the states of Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha and the Union Territory of Daman & Due, Dadra-Nagar-Haveli and Andaman & Nicobar, parts of Maharashtra (Thane & Pune Districts) and parts of Gujarat (Surat, Valsad, Dangs & Tapi Districts). The corridor spanning the highway link through Gujarat & Rajasthan linking Northern India to the ports on the West coast will also be covered.
