IndianOil ensures running of a safer fleet - Conducts eye camp for its 15,000 fleet drivers

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., the country’s largest fuel retailer, runs a trucker fleet comprising more than 15,000 drivers. It will not be an exaggeration to extrapolate that IndianOil contract fleet drivers daily drive more than one lakh km (assuming Indian railway track length of 1,15,000 km) pan-India to deliver products to our customers or to meet operational requirements. Thus their safety is important for us and also directly impacts road safety.

In order to reduce mishaps by ensuring proper vision check of these fleet drivers, IndianOil under its XTRAPOWER programme conducted a week long initiative “XTRAPOWER UJALA”. The Corporation partnered with renowned hospitals like Apollo and local NGOs across 130 major supply location spread over the length and breadth of the country to provide eye-check-up facilities for its fleet drivers.

As on date about 15,000 IndianOil fleet drivers across the country have been checked for their vision and drivers with weak vision have been immediately provided with suitable spectacles, totally free-of-cost.

IndianOil’s XTRAPOWER Fleet Card Loyalty Program, designed for cashless transactions and monitoring of fuel consumption by fleet owners, contributes 20 % of the company’s HSD (Retail) sales. It is continuously fortified with many innovative features to differentiate it from competitive offerings and to retain volumes in the important customer segment. It is a payment solution for the transport fleet customers, offering the convenience of cashless transactions, insurance & security as well as attractive rewards to the transporters. The program since its launch in 2004, has received tremendous response from transporters as well as other corporate customers due to convenience and superiors value proposition it has offered from time to time through its unique features. As on date, the program has over 4 lakh customers with a 10 lakh strong live card base.
