Widening SERVO Product Line
New Delhi   11-Sep-2007
SERVO OEP-70, the Helicopter gearbox oil, developed by IndianOil's R&D Centre has been approved by the Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC). This lubricating oil formulated for highly loaded gears, pins, bushes of aircrafts / helicopters can now regularly be offered to Indian Air force for the use in helicopter gearboxes and other related applications. After the formation of the Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC), this is the first SERVO lubricating oil, which has received approval for airworthiness. Earlier, two grease products viz Servo Grease XG 284 and Servo Grease XG 285 were approved by this authority. The procedure for getting "Type Approval" from CEMILAC involves very extensive quality assessment programme, which includes original clearance by the user aviation agency through a testing/ trial, satisfactory performance certification from the user, checking of manufacturing records at the blending plants, freezing of inputs with respect to their specifications and source etc. These multi-point examinations have been designed by CEMILAC because of the ' risk' involved in airworthiness certification.
