IndianOil Sweeps Awards at Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI)-2016 Awards Ceremony

In a scintillating 1st awards night, post amalgamation of Petrotech Society and Petroleum Federation of India (PetroFed) (to FIPI), held at New Delhi on August 8, 2017, IndianOil swept the floor with awards in four prestigious categories.

Lauding the spirit of healthy competition being bestowed by the FIPI Annual Awards, in his eloquent address Mr. K. D. Tripathi, Secretary, MoP&NG, also the Chief Guest at the occasion, affirmed the FIPI Awards is the most cherished event for the Oil and Gas industry that has now become an annual ritual.“Also, FIPI fulfils the role of an effective platform for raising the issues and concerns of the Oil and Gas Sector. It's indeed heartening to witness both the Private sector and Public sector entities as members of this prestigious association. India is gradually moving towards being a sustainable gas based economy, which has distinguished growth opportunities in upstream, downstream and midstream segments,” added Secretary speaking to a full house gathering comprising of CEO's, senior government officials and most renowned names in the Oil and Gas sector in India.

The Corporation was bestowed upon FIPI ‘Innovator of the Year' award which was conferred to Research & Development Centre of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The award and citation was presented to team IndianOil headed by Dr. SSV Ramakumar, Director (R&D). This award honours Research & Development Centre of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. for successful development and commercialisation of the indigenously developed INDMAX Technology on large scale at Paradip Refinery. With this development and successful implementation at such large scale IndianOil R&D has joined the Global League of Technology Providers.

FIPI award for 'Oil & Gas Pipeline Transportation- Company of the Year' was also conferred to IndianOil. On behalf of the Corporation, Mr. Anish Aggarwal, Director (Pipelines) received the award, along with senior officials from Pipelines Division.

FIPI 'Woman Executive of the Year in the Oil & Gas Industry' was awarded to IndianOil's Ms. Sabitha Natraj, GM (CC), SRO, for courage, grit and determination shown by her during the Chennai Floods in December 2015. She effectively managed media communications resulting in positive mileage and image enhancement of IndianOil. She has to her credit a number of articles published in the national and international publications as well.

IndianOil's Bongaigaon Refinery also received the FIPI ' Most Improved Refinery of the Year' award. The trophy and citation was received by Mr. G.C. Sikder, CGM (I/c), Bongaigaon Refinery. The award was conferred to Bongaigaon Refinery for achieving significantly higher level of performance during 2015-16 over the previous year in production & operational efficiencies, energy conservation and refinery margin while meeting the norms of health, safety and environment protection.

Extending a vote of thanks to the packed house, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil and Co-Chairman, FIPI thanked the august gathering and lauded the award winners. He said, "Digital transformation of Oil & Gas sector is a game changer and would be benefitting the industry at large".

Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry is an apex hydrocarbon industry association to promote member interests in line with Public and National policies through a self-regulatory environment with consumer interest in sight. Registered as a society in 2002, it instituted its annual awards for the oil and gas industry in India in 2007. This year the awards were presented in 11 categories, each award carry a trophy and a citation. Winners of the awards under the categories of 'The Woman Executive of the Year', 'Innovator of the Year - Individual' and 'Innovator of the year -Team' receive cash component in addition to the trophy and citation.
