GAIL signs fuel supply pact for Assam gas cracker project

GAIL India Ltd on Wednesday signed a feedstock supply agreement for the Rs 5,460 crore gas cracker project being set up at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh district of Assam. The gas supply agreement was signed between Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd, a GAIL-promoted company implementing the project, and Oil India Ltd. Besides, a naphtha supply agreement was signed between BCPL and Numaligarh Refineries Ltd, a GAIL press release said here. GAIL CMD and BCPL Chairman, UD Choubey, said the company was committed to ensure project success. Engineers India Ltd has been appointed as the project management consultant. Under the Feedstock Supply Agreements, BCPL will source six million standard cubic meters per day of gas from OIL, which shall be processed to recover C2+ liquid as feedstock for the Petrochemical Complex. The balance gas after recovery of C2+ Liquid shall be returned back to the gas consumers.
