“FUEL SUPPLY POSITION ADEQUATE” reassures State Level Coordinator, Oil Industry Kerala.
New Delhi   20-Aug-2018

State Level Coordinator for the Oil Industry, Mr. PS Mony has assured that Fuel Supply position including LPG supplies are adequate in the State.

He has highlighted that the Oil companies are ensuring fuel supplies at Retail Outlets and LPG Distributorships.

Most of the fuel pumps in the state are functioning as usual barring a few which are submerged. Maximum efforts are put in to reaching fuel at all Retail Outlets that are accessible. LPG Distributors and delivery personnel are wading through knee deep and hip deep water to deliver LPG cylinders on foot. In many places, cylinders are being roped together in water and brought to small vans to be taken to godowns.

Except one LPG Bottling Plant, all the oil industry supply locations are operating to their maximum capacity in Kerala. In places where no direct access is available from the Oil Companies storage points in the state, supplies are being made from neighbouring states viz. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka & Telengana, as found feasible. It may be noted that a good number of Retail Outlets have been taken over by defence authorities for ensuring rescue supplies.

It may also be noted that the Oil Companies are operating 24x7 control rooms to coordinate with the state government. There is nearly 7 days fuel stock coverage as on date for MS and HSD, Kerosene and LPG(Bulk) in the state. Replenishments are also on from Kochi Refinery and supply sources outside the state. ATF (Aviation fuel) is being delivered for aerial sorties for survey and relief operations in close coordination with defence and state machinery. Oil Industry in Kerala assures that comprehensive efforts are being taken on an Industry basis to reach fuel supplies across the state.
