IndianOil felicitates its sportstars for their superlative performance in Asiad 2018

In a glittering ceremony held at IndianOil Corporate Office at New Delhi, the IndianOil Board Members comprising Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil, Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director (HR), Mr. B V Rama Gopal, Director (Refineries) and Dr. SSV Ramakumar, Director (R&D) felicitated the IndianOil Sportstars who represented the Country and brought laurels to the Nation at the 18th Asian Games held at Jakarta & Palembang, Indonesia. The felicitation ceremony was also attended by senior IndianOil officials and veteran sports players like Ms. Manjusha Kanwar, ace badminton player, Mr. R.S. Lele, cricket star, hockey players Hamza Mujtaba and Kamlesh Parihar.

At the outset, welcoming the players and IOCians, Mr. Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director (HR) said that our players has not only made IndianOil proud by the entire country with their incredible feat in the recently concluded Asian Games. He further exhorted IndianOil’s long association with sports which has contributed immensely in bringing about a transformation in the field of sports as far as India is concerned.

Addressing IOCians on the occasion, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman IndianOil mentioned that over the years, India has been climbing the ladder of success and leaving its footprints across the globe in various sports. He credited the sportstars of IndianOil and the other players as well for their hard work, commitment and dedication which has resulted in raining of medals in Asian Games 2018. Congratulating the IndianOil sportstars, Chairman IndianOil reiterated the crucial role of IndianOil as a responsible Corporate for nurturing young and talented sportspersons. He mentioned that he believes that all sports people are good human being as they get to learn a lot beyond their sport when they are on field and each IOCian should draw inspiration from them.

During the ceremony, Manav Thakkar, who won a team championship bronze medal for table tennis in Asian Games was felicitated and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-. Aman Saini, IndianOil’s scholarship player, who bagged a silver medal in men’s team championship in compound archery at Asian Games was also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

Our Hockey players, Simranjeet Singh and Krishan Pathak were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- each for their bronze medal winning performance in Hockey beating arch rival Pakistan.Arjuna Awardee and ace Paddler, IOCian Sharath Kamal, who won two bronze medals in table tennis in team championship as well as mixed doubles at Asian Games 2018 was awarded a cash price of Rs. 2,70,000/-.India’s number one women Table Tennis Player, IOCian Manika Batra was also felicitated and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000/- for being the first Indian Women TT Player to win an Asian Games medal. She won bronze in mixed doubles table tennis pairing Sharath Kamal.The golden boy of IndianOil, Divij Sharan was felicitated and awarded a cash prize of Rs.3,75,000 for winning a gold medal in men’s doubles tennis, partnering with IndianOil''s another star perfomer, Rohan Bopanna at the Asian games.
