A valedictory programme was organised at Haldia Refinery Officers Club to honour the 150 students of Skill Development Programme (2018-19) of Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology under CSR 2018-19 by Haldia Refinery. Mr. C K Tiwari, ED, Haldia Refinery inaugurated the programme as Mr. Udayan Mukherjee, Director and Head, CIPET and senior management of Haldia Refinery were also present. The project aims to support “Make in India” and “Skill India Mission” of Government of India to impart skill training, to the youths from the nearby community or state, focusing on marginalised community.
150 students were honoured in the programme under the selected courses, namely, Blow Moulding, Testing and QC for Plastic Materials and Products, and Plastic Recycling. Mr. Tiwari had officially inaugurated this Three-month residential training programme on August 27, 2018. Mr. Tiwari addressing the students spoke about the four pillars of success -- Desire, Determination, Dedication and Discipline. This batch has shown their desire to gain knowledge during their training and completed their course with determination and efficiency. They have to focus on their desire with discipline to progress in their field of work. This course had been chosen as it is valuable for acquiring a job in any industry and essential in small businesses. Mr. Udayan Mukherjee expressed his sincere gratitude towards the commitment of Haldia Refinery in uplifting the society.
A cultural programme was conducted by the students. They also shared their experiences and thanked the Corporation for giving them this beautiful opportunity. Among 150 students of this Skill Development Programme, 100 students have joined various industries in Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata, and other cities. Some students are in process of joining and others are interested in higher studies.
