Security is a sensitive national concern. In recent times there has been an increase in disruptive activities so the need to effectively counter them is a top priority for any nation and organization. Technology can play an important role in augmenting the whole process to enhance the security systems with implementation of latest and most sophisticated gadgets to monitor each and every installation spread throughout the country via GPRS and other satellite systems. Oil supplies form a crucial component in the production and distribution of every commodity from toothpaste to golf balls. The oil targets are 'soft' and hardly defensible, therefore relatively easy to hit. Pipelines through which significant amount of oil flows, is another area of concern for safety. They run over thousands of miles and across some of the most volatile areas within the country. A disruption in oil supplies is detrimental to India's economy and its citizens. The Corporation pays a very serious attention to the security aspect and is consistently working towards a comprehensive long-term security apparatus to counter and protect its resources.
