IndianOil wins Oil Industry Safety Directorate Awards

<b> IndianOil’s Mathura Refinery and LPG Bottling Plants awarded for Best Performance </b> IndianOil, the largest commercial enterprise in the country and the highest ranked Indian corporate in the prestigious Fortune Global 500 list, bagged two awards from the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG). While one award was won under the ‘LPG Marketing Organisation’ category, the other was under the ‘Refinery’ category, which went to IndianOil’s Mathura Refinery. Mr. G. C. Daga, Director (Marketing), and Mr. B. N. Bankapur, Director (Refineries) received the awards on behalf of IndianOil. The prestigious awards were presented by Mr. M. S. Srinivasan, Secretary, MoP&NG, in the presence of CMDs of Public Sector Oil Companies, Mr. J.B.Verma, Executive Director, OISD, and a host of other dignitaries on September 29, 2007. IndianOil's Indane (LPG) Bottling Plants were presented the OISD Award for best all round performance. IndianOil’s 89 LPG Bottling plants achieved a combined bottling of more than 5 million tones during the year 2006-07. IndianOil serves more than 45 million LPG households through its network of more than 5000 Indane LPG distributors spread across the country. IndianOil's Mathura Refinery, which was presented the award under the ‘Refinery’ category for Best Performance was commissioned in 1982 and today has a capacity of 8 million metric tones per annum, has won this prestigious award for the third time. Mathura Refinery has systematically synchronized technology with ecology, with due care for the surrounding environment. It was the first refinery in Asia and third in the world to be awarded with the coveted ISO-14001 certification for environment-management. It has also achieved ISRS level–8, for safety management system.
