Knowledge is holistic, it is seamless'', T.N.R. Rao, Former Secretary, MOP&NG

On the 12th Anniversary of IiPM, Mr. T.N.R. Rao, Former Petroleum Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas spoke on `Oil – a Decisive Factor for sustaining Growth'. Mr. Sarthak Behuria, Chairman & Mr. V.C. Agrawal, Dir (HR) lead the celebrations. Mr Rao in his keynote address said, ``Substantial development is the way we run our business and accept social responsibility. We must understand that human factor has a major role in sustaining development.'' He reflected on ideas of energy efficiency vs. energy intensity and requested a debate on the issue. With marginal improvement in energy efficiency, we may be able to have sustainable growth. He urged that the oil industry must use bio-diesel in a localized way till the entire infrastructure is ready. Mr Rao also said, ```Knowledge is holistic, it is seamless. No one should interpret human being as a 'Balance Sheet', or look for specialization. A person's knowledge should be seamless. Institutes like IiPM have great role to play.'' Mr Behuria in his address said, ``Organizations become successful through the endeavors of people. A winning organization realizes that its strength lies in its people and processes adopted by them leading to a continuous need to develop human knowledge and competency and imbibe processes that are future oriented and focused on business strategy of the company.'' Mr Behuria added that the biggest challenges of our times is to manage knowledge, technology and knowledge workers for fulfillment of overall growth of our people. IiPM has played a crucial role in catering to the need of executives of IndianOil and provided much-needed learning environment and platform for top-level managements' debates, discussions, strategy formulation and many other introspective and prospective exercises. Mr V.C. Agrawal, Director (HR) lauded the efforts of IiPM. He made a special mention of Mr Anand Kumar, Director (R&D) who during his tenure in IiPM, brought in many changes in programme, bringing in global alliance with U21Global, Singapore and IFP, France. He shared that IiPM is not only catering to the development of executives for their behavioral skills, but also engaging itself in providing high-level functional programme like Hybrid Certificate Programme on Project Management with U21Global, Singapore and Petroleum Management Programme with IFP, France. He further said that IiPM is also catering to corporate needs and providing appropriate platform for programme like i2i Workshop, Value Creation through HR, Value Leaders Workshop, etc. Mr K.K.Gupta, ED-IiPM said that the 12th Anniversary celebration had gained greater value with the presence of many of the senior IOCians, who dreamt of a global, diversified, integrated IndianOil and an IndianOil – as a learning organisation.
