IndianOil Chairman inaugurates Branch Pipeline and Petroleum Terminal at Chittaurgarh

IndianOil's 158-km Lasariya-Chittaurgarh branch pipeline on the mainline Koyali-Sanganer petroleum product pipeline and the marketing terminal at Chittaurgarh was inaugurated by Mr Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, IndianOil here today. Mr G. C. Daga, Director (Marketing), and Mr P. K. Chakraborti, Director (Pipelines), were present for the occasion. The project, commissioned at a cost of Rs. 127.68 crore, would help to reach petroleum products like diesel, petrol and kerosene from IndianOil’s refinery at Koyali in Gujarat directly by pipelines to Chittaurgarh for further distribution in 10 districts of Rajasthan, viz., Udaipur, Chittaurgarh, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Bhilwara and Banswara. IndianOil supplies vital petroleum products to Rajasthan from its Gujarat Refinery through the Koyali-Sanganer pipeline. Its marketing terminals at Sanganer and Salawas, and now at Chittaurgarh, and depots at Ajmer, Bharatpur, Hanumangarh, Kota and Udaipur, stock and supply products such as Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene, Furnace Oil and Aviation Turbine Fuel to the entire State of Rajasthan. With a strong network of over 1,000 Petrol and Diesel stations, 132 Kerosene agencies and a product tankage of 300 thousand kilolitres in Rajasthan, IndianOil is a dominant player in the State with a market share of over 51%. IndianOil is a pioneer and a leader in setting up cross-country pipeline networks preferred as a cost-effective, energy-efficient, safe and environment-friendly mode for transportation of crude oil and petroleum products. Today, IndianOil operates a cross-country pipeline network of over 9,000 km, with a combined capacity of nearly 62 million tonnes per annum, to transport crude oil to the 10 IndianOil Group refineries and finished products from these refineries to major consumption centres. IndianOil is laying several new pipelines and branch lines across the country for transportation of petroleum products and crude oil. These include a crude oil pipeline from Paradip in Orissa to IndianOil’s Haldia Refinery in West Bengal, and a product pipeline from Koyali Refinery to Ratlam. A petroleum product pipeline from Chennai to Bengaluru is also being constructed. With this, the IndianOil pipeline network would reach 10,000 km in combined length and about 75 MMTPA in capacity. Further, IndianOil is also diversifying into gas pipelines, both LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). In the next five years, IndianOil has ambitious plans to invest over Rs. 43,000 crore across the country in projects related to modernisation, expansion and consolidation of existing and new businesses. This year, IndianOil became the first Indian company to clock a turnover of over Rs. Two lakh crore. To sustain growth in the future, IndianOil is on a constant look-out for new business opportunities within its core business areas of refining, marketing and pipelines as well as opportunities in new businesses such as petrochemicals, gas marketing, oil exploration & production and globalisation of downstream operations. IndianOil is also extending its products and services into the rural heartland of India through the Kisan Seva Kendra stations. Over 1,400 KSK stations are already operational as unique, one-stop shops to serve our rural customers and more are under commissioning in a phased manner.
