IndianOil appoints new Director(Pipelines)

IndianOil has appointed Mr. K. K. Jha as Director(Pipelines) effective, September 1, 2009. He will be in-charge of IndianOil's network of 10329-km long 74.41 mmtpa capacity cross-country pipelines transporting crude oil and petroleum products across the country. Mr. Jha, Mechanical Engineering graduate from Vikram University Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), has joined IndianOil in 1976 and since then has carried out many crucial assignments in pipeline project implementation, construction, maintenance and operations. His area of expertise includes pipeline project implementation from concept to commissioning, contracts, safety & environment, inspection & maintenance, etc. Some of his significant achievements include implementation of major pipeline projects namely, Kandla-Bhatinda Pipeline, Viramgam-Chaksu Pipeline, Paradip-Haldia crude oil pipeline and IndianOil's first LPG pipeline from Panipat to Jalandhar. As the head of Projects Group of Pipelines Division, he was involved in implementing more than 10 projects simultaneously. Earlier, he has headed the Eastern Region of Pipelines Division which has more than 3000 km Pipelines. The project activities he has handled also covers construction of marketing terminal, tank farm, offshore pipeline and Single Point Mooring (SPM) system. He has initiated independent studies for preparing feasibility of laying spur and branch product pipelines in Eastern India. Earlier, as a technical services head he was involved in developing new techniques and methodology in improving performance of the pipelines. He is a Member of NACE International, USA. He has presented papers on pipeline inspection & maintenance activities during Petrotech Conferences and IQPC held at Dubai and Abu Dhabi. His article titled 'Pipeline expansion crucial to economic development' was published in the prestigious World Petroleum Council Yearbook 2007.
