IndianOil Chairman Sarthak Behuria Conferred 'SCOPE Individual Excellence Award'

<div align=center><img src=http://www.indianoilxpress.com/NewImages/Thumbnail/GoldenSCOPEB.jpg></div> Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, presented the 'SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to Public Sector Management' - Individual Category for the year 2006-07 to Mr. Sarthak Behuria, Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, here today. The SCOPE Awards have been instituted by the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises, the apex body of public enterprises in India, to recognise the contribution of public enterprises and to encourage outstanding personalities for their exemplary work and leadership qualities. As Chairman of IndianOil since March 2005, Mr. Behuria has been transforming the flagship national oil company in the downstream petroleum sector into a diversified, transnational integrated energy major. Besides growth and consolidation in the core areas of refining and marketing, the Corporation is vigorously pursuing an ambitious business expansion agenda across the hydrocarbon value chain through upstream integration into exploration & production of oil, downstream integration into value-added petrochemicals, and diversification into natural gas marketing and alternative sources of energy, besides globalisation of downstream operations. Mr. Behuria is also Chairman (part-time) of group company Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd., besides heading IOT Infrastructure & Energy Services Ltd., a joint venture for building and operating independent terminalling services for oil & gas companies. Mr. Behuria is the first Indian to be elected President of the World LPGas Association (WLPGA), in September 2008. He has been conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the Energy Institute, UK, the highest-level of professional recognition reserved for those who have made a notable and distinguished contribution to the energy industry. He has also been named among the top 10 most influential oilmen in India by Upstream, the internationally acclaimed oil & gas journal. The SCOPE award in the Individual Excellence category carries a Gold Plaque, citation and a cash amount of Rs. 1 lakh. <b>MoU Excellence Award</b> <div align=center><img src=http://www.indianoilxpress.com/NewImages/Thumbnail/SilverSCOPEP.jpg></div> During the function, IndianOil was also presented the MoU Excellence Award of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) for its performance in the Annual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of India for the year 2007-08.
