Kochi LNG terminal may open in 2010

The $550 million Kochi LNG terminal would be commissioned by the end of 2010 or early 2011, according to Petroleum Minister Murli Deora. The arrangements with regard to the project were assessed at a meeting attended by the principal secretary to the Prime Minister T K A Nair, state industries minister Elamaram Karem, state Finance Minister Thomas Issac, petroleum secretary, petronet LNG MD P Das Gupta, Kochin port trust chairman N Ramachandran and officials of BPCL-Kochi Refinery and Gail, sources said.
